I graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki, Greece. During my specialty in Nephrology, I awarded my PhD on antigen presentation in hemodialysis patients. I have also been a visitor investigator at the Immunology Department, Scripps Research Institute, La Jolla, CA, USA and a visitor nephrologist in Nephrology and Kidney Transplant Program, Hospital Del Mar, Barcelona Spain. Now I’m an associate professor of Nephrology in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Thessaly, Larissa, Greece and beyond my teaching and clinical duties I run a research laboratory focused on molecular medicine. I’ve published more than 180 studies in journals indexed in PUBMED, which were cited more than 3000 times. In most of these studies I was the first and corresponding author.

Research Interest: Academic Higher Surgical Training Programme in Trauma and Orthopaedics at UCL and the RNOH, Stanmore and am committed to a career in Academic Orthopaedic Surgery. Before embarking on higher surgical training I spent a period of training in research methods and techniques of relevance to Orthopaedics, in particular Tissue Engineering and Stem Cell Biology. This research time will enable me to develop my own interests in research and it will provide excellent grounding for a future career in Academic Orthopaedic Sciences. It will also provide me with a scientific basis for clinical practice and improve my ability to translate new findings from research into improved everyday clinical care for patients.
